News That Matters Not (NTMN) is a news satire and social commentary website based in India. It is one of the oldest of all such popular websites in India, which still exist very actively. Founded in late 2009, the award-winning website is known to publish sarcasm, criticism, satire and the like, usually in the form of humorous news parody. It targets the media, politics, life and society among other entities of the world. NTMN is best known for its work based on criticism of education policies of India, and social satire.

It has been mentioned in print media on six occasions: once each by MiD-Day (April 26, 2010) and Business Standard (February 4, 2012), and four times by The Times of India (Mumbai edition on July 17, 2011, Ahmedabad edition on July 18, 2011, Mumbai edition on December 18, 2011, and Chennai edition on December 20, 2011). NTMN won the prestigious 8th Annual Manthan South Asia Awards for best e-content practices (category: e-news and media) on December 2, 2011. The jury appreciated NTMN’s social value as a writing venture and its value as a youth platform.

We might be just another news satire website, but we wanted to be “first-of-its-kind” in something. So we say that we are the first-of-our-kind students’ humour network in India, since NTMN is run, managed, written, read and enjoyed mostly by college-going people who seldom study. The trend has recently caught on several people from the student community and inspired them to write satire and create a growing herd of websites who use this style. NTMN’s style of catchy satirical humour has been proudly serving as a voice for young writers and satirists. NTMN was the first satire site to feature Hindi posts.

If you thought NTMN wastes your time, brings a smile on your face, gets the writers some fame and money, saves the authors some free time, etc., you must also understand that we intend constructive social criticism coated with humour. In case you don’t get our humour and you loathe our satire, maybe we are not meant for you.

An NTMNer (pronounced en-tee-em-ner) is a marginalised section of society, best known for working for this site. NTMNers have been previously accused of being insensitive, in the need of girlfriends and a life, among lots of other accusations. You can also become an NTMNer. If you can get hilariously sarcastic or satirically hilarious, get noticed, get famous through NTMN.
